What is QPP?

The Quality Payment Program (QPP) was launched in 2017 as a key driver in shifting from a fee-for-service model to a pay-for-value approach. This program combines three existing quality and value reporting initiatives (PQRS, VBM, and MU) into one system that assigns points based on performance.

Eligible clinicians are scored annually on a scale, resulting in a Composite Performance Score (CPS). This CPS, determined by the reported measures, will determine the payment adjustment.

QPP offers three main reporting tracks: Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS), MIPS Value Pathways (MVP). and the APM Performance Pathway (APP).

How can you participate in QPP?

LEARN MORE ABOUT MIPS REPORTING

Check Your Eligibility

Visit the QPP website to determine if you are eligible to participate. Your status could be one of the following: Not Eligible, MIPS Eligible Clinician Group, Qualifying APM Participant (QP), MIPS Eligible Clinician Individual, MIPS Eligible Clinician Virtual Group, or MIPS APM Participant.

Choose Your Participation Framework

Decide whether you will participate in Traditional MIPS, MIPS Value Pathways (MVP), or the APM Performance Pathway (APP). Each reporting framework has specific requirements and categories. You may choose to report to both MIPS and MVPs.

Select Collection Types

Choose the appropriate collection types for reporting your data, such as eCQMs, MIPS CQMs, Medicare CQMs, and CMS Web Interface measures (note that the CMS Web Interface is being retired in 2025).

Submit Your Data

Adhere to the data submission timelines. All QPP data must be submitted in the March following the reporting year. For instance, all 2024 data is due in March of 2025.

How Can Medisolv Help You Participate In Medicare’s Quality Payment Program?

Medisolv offers a MIPS, MVP, and APP Reproting Package to help your organization. We will help you track and improve your measure performance and we submit your data to CMS for you. We can submit for MIPS or MVPs at the sub-group level. Or you can opt for both, so you can take advantage of the dual submission flexibility CMS currently offers. For our ACOs, we submit one aggregate ACO submission in the APP reporting framework.
