Decoding Your Public Reputation Metrics

Understanding Care Compare, Star Ratings, and LeapFrog

Wednesday, February 12 @ 1pm ET

Care Compare, Star Ratings, and LeapFrog are public reputation programs that use different measures pulled from different timeframes. However, there are surprising similarities in the measures used by each of these reporting sites.

Most of these programs use measures publicized on Care Compare, which pulls from these major programs: Inpatient Quality Reporting (IQR), Hospital Readmission Reduction Programs (HRRP), Hospital Value-Based Purchasing, and Hospital Acquired Condition Reduction programs.

These programs directly influence a hospital's public image and financial performance. The data from these programs feed into public reputation platforms like Care Compare and LeapFrog, highlighting the necessity for hospitals to proactively manage and accurately report their performance data to improve their standings in public assessments.
