Inpatient Psychiatric Facility Quality Reporting Program Requirements
Optimize and manage your entire Inpatient Psychiatric Facility Quality Reporting Program in one easy place with Medisolv's Hospital Quality Reporting Package.
What is the IPFQR Program?
The Inpatient Psychiatric Facility Quality Reporting (IPFQR) Program is a quality reporting initiative managed by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). It aims to improve the quality of care provided in inpatient psychiatric facilities (IPFs) by collecting and reporting data on various quality measures. These measures cover a range of clinical practices and outcomes, including screening for metabolic disorders, alcohol and drug use disorder treatment, tobacco use treatment, and the use of physical restraints and seclusion.
The program requires IPFs to submit data on specific measures, which are then used to evaluate and compare the quality of care across facilities. The data collection methods include both patient-level abstracted data and aggregate data submission via web-based tools. The program does not involve risk adjustment and focuses on process measures, with improvement noted as either an increase or decrease in specific rates, depending on the measure.
Overall, the IPFQR Program is designed to enhance transparency, encourage quality improvement, and ensure that patients receive high-quality care in inpatient psychiatric settings.
